This course introduces the student to estate planning and the ways in which property can be held and transferred. The course includes drafting of wills, durable powers of attorney, and community property agreements.  The student gains knowledge of probate and summary probate procedures and is exposed to the tax considerations in estate planning and estate administration.

LA260 Legal Career Workshop for Paralegals.  In this course, the student focuses on resume building and writing a successful cover letter.  The course also focuses on drafting a reference page.

This course is designed to teach the fundamental nature, extent, and degree of criminal acts and omissions. It defines both the mental states and physical acts needed to warrant punishment. Topics include attempt, conspiracy, sentencing, and accomplice liability.

This course is designed to offer students not only an introduction to, but also a working knowledge of, eDiscovery and the importance that eDiscovery serves in all aspects of the legal field.  The class focuses on understanding what is eDiscovery, how to manage and prepare for eDiscovery, best practices in the area of eDiscovery, and the critical role that a paralegal plays in ensuring that eDiscovery is properly managed and used in civil litigation for the benefit of the client.    This course will provide a baseline understanding to successfully preserve, collect and review electronic data, and a  foundation to support on-boarding ESI.  Upon successful completion of the Final Exam students will also obtain an eDiscovery Certification Badge through ACEDs.
